Question types
Q-Live supports 6 question types. Pick by what you need to find out.
1. Multiple choice
The classic poll: question + 2–10 options, participant picks one (or several if you allow it).
When to use: Opinion sampling, qualification questions, A/B preference.
Tip: To allow multiple answers, turn on Multiple answers in settings.
2. Quiz
Same as multiple choice, but one option is correct and participants earn points for speed.
When to use: Training, knowledge competitions, ice breakers, gamification.
Settings:
- Time limit — typically 10–30 seconds. Faster answers = more points.
- Points for correct — default 1000, can be adjusted.
Leaderboard: A leaderboard of top performers appears after a few questions. Great audience motivation.
3. Word cloud
Participants submit words (1–3 at a time); they appear larger the more often they repeat.
When to use: "Describe X in one word…", brainstorming, associations, workshop openers.
Tip: Set a limit (typically 1–3 words per participant), otherwise the cloud floods.
4. Open text
Participants write a long answer (up to 500 characters).
When to use: "What would you improve?", feedback, ideas, anonymous Q&A.
Note: Requires moderation. We recommend reviewing before projecting. In present mode the responses are shown as a list, not individual votes.
5. Rating
A 1–5 (or 1–10) scale, participants tap. The result is average and median.
When to use: "How happy are you with the presentation?", NPS-style, section rating, quick feedback.
What you see: Average, median, distribution of answers (how many gave 1, 2, 3…).
6. Raffle / prize draw
Participants enter their name and go into the hat. You then set the number of winners and draw them whenever you like.
When to use: End-of-conference prize draw, raffle at a booth, an incentive to fill in feedback, a competition during training.
Settings:
- Contact (optional) — besides the name we also ask for an e-mail or phone so you can reach the winner.
- Show names to the audience (optional, off by default) — the audience sees the list of entrants. Winners are always shown.
Drawing: In the host panel, set the number of winners on that question, optionally name the draw ("Main prize") and click Draw. Details in Drawing winners.

How to create a question
In the host panel click + New question, choose a type and fill in:
- The question — short sentence, max ~200 chars.
- Options (multiple choice / quiz only) — 2–10 items.
- Correct answer (quiz only) — check the correct option.
- Settings (optional) — time limit, points, max word count, etc.
