AI features in Smart Presentation

Smart Presentation has 3 AI features specific to this tool. They all run on GPT-4o-mini (or OpenAI TTS for voice). For AI features in Presentation Builder (per-slide narration, video subtitles) see AI features in Builder.

1. AI presentation generation

Creates the structure and content of a whole presentation from a topic.

Path: /tools/presentations/new → "Topic" mode → enter a topic → AI generates.

Cost: 50 credits (one-off when creating).

2. Restyle

Applies a chosen template to an existing presentation — keeps the text, but changes the layout, colors and typography.

Path: /tools/presentations/{id} → click a slide → Restyle → template gallery.

Steps:

  1. Open the presentation, pick the slide you want to "re-dress"
  2. Restyle → template gallery (split by style: minimalistic, bold, corporate, …)
  3. Click a template → preview
  4. Apply → the slide is re-rendered with the new styling

Cost: 10 credits per slide.

Tip: When AI generation produces a "boring" slide, Restyle quickly improves it. Try 2–3 templates and pick the best.

3. AI on-ramp from PPTX / PDF

Smart Presentation can convert an existing PowerPoint or PDF into its own presentation — AI extracts the content and produces a new structure.

Path: /tools/presentations/new → "Import PPTX" or "Import PDF" mode → upload a file → AI generates.

It is not a faithful conversion (like in Builder) — it's an inspiration for a new presentation based on the content of the old one.

For a faithful conversion to an editable presentation (keeping object positions, fonts, etc.) use Import in Presentation Builder.

Translating a presentation

To translate a whole presentation to another language, use the standalone Translator tool at /tools/translator. It works for Smart Presentation and Presentation Builder presentations and supports 8 languages.

Per-user gating

AI features require credits in the current plan. If you're on the free plan with no credits, you need a paid plan or purchased credits.

You can see your credit balance in the header (avatar → Billing → Credits).

Admin has AI features always available regardless of plan.

Tips

  • Restyle before presenting — if you have 10 slides that look inconsistent, Restyle them all with the same template
  • AI on-ramp as inspiration — use it on older presentations, but expect the structure to differ from the original
  • Restyle cost — 10 credits per slide, so 10 slides = 100 credits. Before deciding to re-dress the whole presentation, make sure you have enough
